Florida Golf Course Review
Baytree National in Melbourne is a four-star (Golf Digest Places to Play) championship facility considered to be one of the premier golf courses on the
Space Coast, featuring wonderful conditioning from tee to green. As the photos in this review indicate, this layout provides some exceptional shot values -
and with rates topping out at under $75 prime time in 2011 - Baytree National is also outstanding with its green fee values.
Five sets of tees provide golfers with choices of playing to yardages and slopes measuring 7043 yards/135 slope, 6557 yards/129 slope, 6081 yards/123
slope, 5403 yards/114 slope for men and 128 for women, and a player friendly 4803 yards from the forward tees with a slope of 121 for the ladies.
The layout begins rather innocently, but takes on a challenging look with numerous lakes/ponds, marsh and sand waste areas and thick native vegetation
providing obstacles to low scores. Including the meandering coquina waste areas, there are 81sand bunkers located greenside or situated on the well
manicured Bermuda fairways. Water comes into play on all but three holes, but few of the hazards require forced carries (with most on the back side).
On property at Baytree National is a clubhouse with pro shop, restaurant/lounge, locker rooms with showers, and banquet/outing facilities. Practice
facilities include a targeted mat and grass range, putting green plus short game area with sand bunker. On course color-coded markers are posted on the
fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and the Kirby Marking system also provides plates every 25 yards from 225 to 75 yards in. Small flags on the pin indicates hole location.
A round at Baytree National is highly recommended by the twoguyswhogolf! It is a beautiful layout with nice amenities and a fair price structure. The
property is easily accessible - less than 1 mile east of I-95 off Wickham Road. For more info, including a direct link to their website, visit our page for the property by clicking here.
