CORAL OAKS GOLF COURSE 239-573-3100
Florida Golf Course Review
Coral Oaks Golf Course, in Cape Coral just minutes from Fort Myers, was designed by Arthur Hills in 1988. This
6623 yard par 72 championship course is as affordable as it is remarkable featuring beautiful lakes and large
oak trees. Golfers of all skill levels can enjoy the challenges of the course, its splendid natural surroundings, and a wide array of amenities.
On property there is a par 72 championship course, practice facility, and a clubhouse including a pro shop with
an experienced teaching staff, and the Knickers Pub. The Pub serves breakfast and lunch daily and is available
for private parties and banquets. Practice facilities feature the largest driving range in the area, short game area
with sand bunker, and a large TifEagle putting green. The range has grass teeing stations, six large targeted greens, and 300 yards of distance for ball strikers to let loose.
The fairways are lined by oak trees with some room for error off the tees, however inaccurate shots may lead to
penalties in the many lakes situated about the course. The terrain is fairly even with the exception of the #3
handicap par five-9th with mounding and uneven lies in the rough on both sides of the fairway. The greens are
slightly elevated but not very well protected by bunkers or grass mounds. The medium sized putting surfaces
have a mild slope and undulation and should not cause golfers to misread the small breaks to the hole.
There are four sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 6623 yards/135 slope, 6078
yards/129 slope, 5660 yards/123 slope, and 4870 yards with a slope of 115 for women playing the forward tees.
Although this is not an overly long course it can challenge beginners and avid golfers with water coming into play frequently at Coral Oaks.
Thirteen holes feature water hazards in the form of lakes, ponds, and creeks that mostly run along the sides of
the fairways including one lake that is surrounded by the 11th, 12th, and 13th. There are a total of 34 sand
bunkers strategically situated near landing zones throughout the layout. The yardage marking system includes
150 yard stakes, and indicators down the middle of the fairway and on the cart path from 100, 150, and 200
yards to center green. Flags are color coded to inform golfers of front, middle, and back pin placements on each green.
