ERROL ESTATE GOLF CLUB (407-886-3676)
Florida Golf Course Review
Errol Estate is a semi-private golf club located in Apopka in OrangeCounty, just northwest of Orlando, that is member owned and offers limited outside play
to the public. The property features scenic beauty, classic character and playability on 27 manicured, Joe Lee designed holes that offer affordability and
quality. The terrain is surprisingly undulating, as the design includes interesting twists and turns and significant elevation changes.
Five lakes provide aesthetic beauty as well as challenge, and tree lined fairways help to create a serene environment without making holes overly difficult.
Golfers have choices of playing to any one of four sets of tee boxes that range in slope from 126 to 132. The Lake/Highland course plays to 6735, 6432,
6187 and 5760. The Highland/Grove set up measures 6668, 6427, 6143 and 5712 yards, and the Grove/Lake course plays to 6745, 6459, 6202 and 5519 yards.
While not overly long, the layout features a variety of doglegs that bend in either direction, creating the need for accuracy and strategy. Yet the fairways
are generally ample enough to make this an enjoyable experience for all levels of players. Greens are large and mildly undulating, providing good birdie
opportunities for shots that land in regulation. Slope ratings range from 120 to 132.
The photos in this review feature images of the Lake and Highlands nine. The Lake course has 51 sand bunkers with 6 holes featuring water hazards. The
fairways are quite expansive, and the green complexes here are sloping and slightly raised, with just a few residential properties dotting the terrain. The
Highland nine is more tree-lined and a bit tighter, but with less water in play (only 1 hole). There are 51 sand bunkers on this layout as well.
Facilities on property include a full service practice area with grass range, putting green and short game area with sand bunker and chipping greens. The
clubhouse features a pro shop, restaurant/lounge with lunch and dinner Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, plus Sunday breakfast. Golf carts have rear
covers that protect clubs during inclement weather. Banquet/outing facilities can accommodate up to 225 guests. On course 150 yard stakes double as
directional devices, sprinkler heads are marked and 100/150/200 blocks are posted in the fairways on all par fours and fives. Color coded flags indicate
front, middle and back hole locations. For more info, visit our page for errol estates, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
