Hernando Oaks Golf Club in Brooksville is a Scott Pate championship design that features undulating fairways
sculpted from forests of moss draped oaks as it meanders through a residential community. The layout is well
conditioned and presents generous landing zones off the tee and large, undulating TifEagle greens that facilitate
quick, true-rolling putts. There often is ample room for recovery from slightly offline approaches.
Many of the green complexes are raised and protected by mounding and swales, plus soft sand bunkers. In total,
there are 67 sand traps positioned along the fairways or greenside, and waste areas that are sometimes
expansive also come into play on many of the holes. The water hazards that border the playing surfaces on ten of
the holes are mostly situated on the perimeters, with only the par three 7th and 16th demanding forced carries.
Five sets of tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6905 yards/132 slope, 6430 yards/127 slope,
6297 yards/125 slope, 5777 yards with a 114 slope for men and 125 for women, and 5099 yards with a slope of
112 for women playing from the red tees. The layout is quite player friendly from the three initial sets, and can be challenging for golfers hitting from the two back tees.
On property is a temporary clubhouse with pro shop plus restaurant/snack shop with that serves lunch daily and
breakfast as well on weekends. A 26,000 square foot clubhouse with a variety of amenities is in the planning
stages. Practice facilities include a grass range, short game area with sand bunker plus putting green. On
course sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the greens, 150 yard stakes are located on the sides of
the fairways, and 100, 150 and 200 yard blocks are also posted. The Leading Edge Technologies GPS is
