Huntington Hills near Lakeland is a Ron Garl designed 6600 yard championship course that has been rated with
3 1/2 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play. A favorite of locals and tourists alike, this property is know for it's
consistency in service and playing conditions, and for its very reasonable rate structure (under $50 prime time including cart in 2007).
The course includes four sets of tee boxes. The tips measure 6,653 yards/128 slope, blues 6,080/121, and the
whites 5,571 with a slope of 113. The average golfer will find and enjoyable yet challenging round from the blue
tees. The forward sets measure 4789 yards with a slope of 109 for women. Down the center of the fairway
golfers will find 200, 150, and 100 yard markers along with sprinkler heads measured to the center of the green. All carts include a pin placement sheet indicating the day's hole locations.
On property is a beautiful clubhouse with pro shop, spacious restaurant/lounge plus banquet and outing facilities.
There also is a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting green. The scorecards
have a small course diagram, which indicates the water hazards and sand bunkers located throughout the layout.
Water comes into play on 9 holes and there are approximately 40 bunkers situated along the fairways or greenside.
The usually wide fairways have significant undulations created by generous mounding - some are tree lined while
others are quite open. Approaches will find room around the variety of green complexes, with putting greens that
are medium size with some slopes and ridges. While this layout presents several challenges - overall is a player friendly course.
The par four third is the number one handicap - a beautiful hole that features an approach over a marsh area and
pond that rests in front of the green. The par three 4th also demands a carry over water off the tee, and number 5
is a par five that winds around another natural area - providing perhaps the most interesting three hole sequence of the layout.
This residential golf course provides nice conditioning and a good variety in shot selection. With reasonable
rates year round and nice amenities, this is one of the area's better golf values. The property is conveniently
