KISSIMEE OAKS GOLF CLUB (407-933-4055)
Florida Golf Course Review 1/14/06
Kissimee Oaks Golf Club has quickly become regarded as one of the most improved golf courses in the
Orlando area. Recently acquired by LinksCorp Inc (owners of Eastwood Golf Club in Orlando as well) the facility
has undergone extensive course and clubhouse renovations. As a special inducement for visitors to try this newly
remodeled layout - Kissimee Oaks now offers FREE CLUB RENTALS in 2006 for visiting players!
The design is built on 135 acres and features ample fairways and well bunkered green complexes that are mildly
sloped but not undulating. Land on these surfaces in regulation, and birdies can be had. Room greenside also
allows golfers to recover form slightly offline approaches. Water comes into play on 15 holes, with wood retaining
walls are repeatedly featured near the greenside hazards. Wildlife including eagles, osprey, turtle, beaver and
cranes are plentiful. Approximately 36 soft sand bunkers are situated near the putting surfaces or are strategically places near the landing zones on the fairways.
The course meanders through an upscale residential community, with tropical foliage including pampas and
palms dotting the landscape. On property is a targeted grass range, 2 putting greens plus two practice bunkers.
The clubhouse features a pro shop, locker rooms with showers for men and women, and a snack area with hot and cold sandwiches and beverages. Outing facilities can accommodate a full group of 144 players.
There are four sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6884 yards/131 slope, 6487 yards/128
slope, 5928 yards/123 slope and 5021 yards with a slope of 110 from the forward sets. The yardages are evenly
dispersed to allow all golfers to choose a set that matches their game - creating a fair challenge for all levels of
players. Sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green, and yardage blocks are provided on the
fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, with 150 yard stakes also doubling as directional devices. A pin placement
sheet mounted on each cart indicates the day's hole locations, and the ParView GPS is standard on all carts.
Holes four though 7 are perhaps the most interesting of the layout, with ponds and wetlands providing natural beauty and a formidable challenge.
We recommend a round at Kissimee Oaks without reservation. Prices are quite affordable (TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FREE CLUB RENTALS IN 2006!), and the course is conveniently located near many of
the area's top hotels and attractions. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
