The Legacy at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton is an Arnold Palmer design that is different from any course found
in the region. Outstanding conditioning along manicured fairways that lead to mildly undulating, true rolling putting
surfaces help to make this the area's premier layout. Elevated tees lead to generous landing areas that are often framed by water hazards and soft, white sand bunkers.
Frequent canals, ponds and the intricately designed sand traps will challenge the shot making abilities of all
levels of players. Once near the green, golfers will often have to contend with mounding and collection areas that
demand top short game skills to finish the hole. In total, 17 holes present water hazards in some shape or form, and a combination 62 sand bunkers and waste areas dot the layout.
The 5 sets of tees are evenly interspersed with yardages and slopes playing to 7067 yards/140 slope, 6684
yards/136 slope, 6108 yards/124 slope, 5465 yards/123 slope and 4886 yards with a playable 115 slope for
women. Pin placement sheets with the day's hole locations are posted on each cart, and 150 yard stakes are
visible on all par fours and fives. In addition, there are 100, 150 and 200 yard markers on the fairways, and sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green.
The facilities at the Legacy include a wonderful practice area with a targeted grass range, 3 putting greens and a
green for short game practice. Breakfast and lunch items are available daily in the clubhouse restaurant &
outdoor patio, and locker rooms with showers are also on property. There is a pro shop with golf attire and
accessories, and banquets and outings can be hosted in a tent pavilion which is constructed for such events.
The Legacy is a TROON GOLF managed property - and as such is well respected for outstanding amenities and service.
Conveniently located just two miles east of I-75 in Bradenton, The Legacy is easily accessible from Tampa, Fort
Myers or Naples. This is upscale all the way...with rates in 2005 topping out at under $100 - a good bargain for
