LEXINGTON OAKS GOLF CLUB (813) 907-7270
Florida Golf Course Review (02/26/06)
Lexington Oaks Golf Club in Wesley Chapel is a par 72 championship layout featuring wonderful conditioning
and superb facilities. Playing though an upscale residential community, Lexington Oaks features wide but well
bunkered fairways and mildly raised green complexes along a gently rolling, well manicured terrain. In total there
are 70 soft white sand bunkers and water comes into play in some shape or form on all but one hole.
On property is an aqua driving range and a large practice green for putting and chipping. The clubhouse facilities
are extensive, providing a pro shop, locker rooms with showers for men and women, and a restaurant/lounge
with outdoor patio that features breakfast, lunch and dinner menus plus standard bar items. Together with the
spacious outdoor patio, this facility can host up to 144 people for outings and special events.
On course there are yardage markers at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and 150 yard stakes double as directional
devices. Scorecards provide green diagrams with 6 rotating pin placements...the starter will let golfers know
which of the hole locations players should refer to. Four sets of tee boxes play to distances and slopes
measuring 6724 yards/130 slope, 6017 yards/124 slope, 5361 yards/ 111 slope for men and 126 for women, and 4515 yards with a slope of 108 for ladies playing from the forward sets.
The course is playable for all levels of skills. The fairways provide ample landing zones and lead to green
complexes which are well bunkered on the sides, but generally open in front. Most surfaces are mildly sloped
with very gentle undulations, providing ample opportunities to make putts. Land in regulation, and low scores can
be had here. Marsh areas come into play on several holes on the back side, but carries off the tee or on the approach are reasonable in length.
This golf course was in great shape on our late February visit, and quite green compared to many other area
layouts which let their Bermuda roughs go dormant during winter months. Green fees with cart are extremely
reasonable, making a round here a wonderful value. For more info, visit our page for Lexington Oaks, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
