PALM BEACH GARDENS GOLF CLUB (561-626-7888)
Florida Golf Course Review
Palm Beach Gardens Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal facility that is situated on 140 acres of the Loxahatchee Natural Preserve. Returning visitors will be
pleasantly surprised by the considerable renovations that have taken place since 2006. The irrigation system along the entire course has been brought up
to date, the bunkers have been renovated and all the green complexes have been rebuilt with Tif Dwarf putting surfaces.
The layout features generous, mildly rolling fairways that are bordered by mounds and a scattering of trees. Non-penal (low lipped) white sand bunkers are
strategically located near the greens or beside the landing zones off the tee - but are understated with just 23 traps situated along the course. Water
comes into play on 12 holes in the form of lakes and ponds.
The three opening holes all have forced carries off the tee... these carries are challenging from the tips, but very reasonable from the two forward sets of
tees. This is generally true of the entire design. Avid golfers will experience a good test from the two back tees, while average players and high
handicappers will find that most of the hazards are manages/able from the white tees in, with the layout providing a player friendly experience.
There are four sets of tee boxes, that play to distances and slopes measuring 6504 yards/131 slope, 6028 yards/122 slope, 5420 yards/111 slope for men
and 122 for women, and 4690 yards with a slope rating of 110 for ladies playing from the forward tees.
On course yardages are marked at 100, 150 and 200 yards on the fairways of all par fours and fives, 150 yard stakes are located on both sides, and color
coded flags indicate front, middle and back pin locations on the large, sloping putting surfaces situated in the raised green complexes. Pro Track GPS is
standard on all carts, which also are equipped with rear weather covers. Practice facilities include an aqua range with bunker, plus a practice green. The
clubhouse includes a pro shop, snack area/lounge plus outing facilities for up to 144 people.
From the road, Palm Beach Gardens looks like an ordinary, wide open course...We were impressed by the attention to maintenance, by the interesting
design spiced by some challenging water hazards, and by the overall variety and challenge. With extremely reasonable rates - this is a golf experience we
can highly recommend! For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
