The Polo Trace Golf Club in Delray Beach is one of south Florida's premier facilities, providing visitors and members with lush rolling fairways, finely
landscaped green complexes, exceptional service and a world class layout. Though the course is designed within an upscale residential community - the
lush landscaping and thick tropical foilage create an environment of seclusion. An abundance of natural areas are incorporated into the layout along
rolling, winding fairways that lead to manicured green complexes.
There are 4 sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 7035 yards/139 slope, 6682 yards/133 slope, 6068 yards/129 slope and 5059
yards with a 120 slope from the forward sets. The nines are quite balanced with 2 par fives and 2 par threes on each side. The back nine is a bit longer
and provides ample opportunities to hit driver, with the 5 par fours playing to between 414 and 440 yards from the tips
Golfers will appreciate that the course is well marked, with each tee box plus sprinkler heads scattered about the layout, providing measurements to the
center of the green. 100, 150 and 200 yard markers (250 on par fives) are also situated near the center of the fairways, and hole locations are designated
on the scorecards, though on our April visit color coded flags also indicated front, middle or back pin placements.
On property is a full service clubhouse with pro shop, restaurant/lounge, plus changing areas with showers for both men and women. The practice range is
for irons only (no woods or drivers) and there also is a short game area with putting/chipping greens and sand bunker.
Water comes into play in some shape or form on 12 holes and 51 soft sand bunkers are situated near the landing zones off the tee, or greenside. Golfers
will find that almost every hole presents something unique - whether it be the incredible landscaping surrounding the tee area, a challenging approach, or
the wood walled bunkers or rock retaining walls found near several of the green complexes. The cart paths are partial so it is easy and convenient to drive
to your ball - an example of the thought that went into this design - with the purpose to make this an enjoyable and memorable round. ACCOMPLISHED -
we highly recommend a round here!
