PRESIDENT COUNTRY CLUB (561-686-4700) Patriot Course review
Florida Golf Course Review
The President Country Club - formerly a private facility, features 2 championship courses that are now open for public play. The Patriot is a traditional, tree-lined course with well
placed bunkers and significant doglegs that most often bend from left to right. The newer Eagles Course is an outstanding Robert Trent Jones design featuring 6 sets of tees and
Champion Bermuda green complexes.
Facilities on property include a complimentary driving range with 6 exact target greens featuring mat and grass tee stations, a large putting green and short game area, fully
stocked golf and tennis shops, 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, 25 meter 5-lane Olympic swimming pool, state of the art fitness center, locker rooms with steam areas, grille room plus
lounge and sports and tiki bar. There also is a hair salon and barber stylist to complement the incredible amenities and service.
Both courses are well marked with each tee box and sprinkler heads throughout the layouts providing measurements to the center of the green complexes. The Patriot course
also has 150 yard stakes on the sides near the cart path, and the Eagles course has markings on the cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives). Both courses
provide yardage blocks in the center of the fairways on all par fours and fives at 100, 150 and 200 yards. Pin placements are recognized by color coded flags for front, middle and
back hole locations.
The images in this review are of the original design at the President Country Club – the Patriot Course. The Patriot starts simply and becomes more interesting as the round
progresses. Most fairways provide ample landing zones, and the green complexes are often raised and mildly undulating. There are 57 sand bunkers situated along the fairways
and greenside - many of them oversized. Water comes into play in some shape or form on 10 holes.
Four sets of tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6158 yards/123 slope, 5865 yards/119 slope, 5415 yards.114 slope for men and 121 for women, and 4893 yards
with a slope of 117 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. This is the shorter and easier of the two courses. Golfers of all skill levels will find this to be an interesting and enjoyable
round of golf. For more info with map and directions, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
