ROSEDALE GOLF CLUB (941-756-0004)
Review 12/12/04
Rosedale Golf Club in Bradenton is a Ted Mcanlis par 72 championship design that is known as one of the most
challenging and best maintained courses on the Suncoast. Lush, fairways are bounded by an upscale residential
development, featuring manicured greens and magnificent natural surroundings that create a feeling of serenity.
Thirteen holes present water hazards and 47 sand bunkers dot the layout, with mildly sloped, medium size putting surfaces landscaped with contoured mounding that is often located greenside.
The four par threes are an interesting group, with sand, natural areas or water affecting entry to each green. The
four par fives can be reached in two by long hitters, and the 10 par fours present a nice mix of mid length holes,
with most of the doglegs favoring a left to right shot shape. There is a variation of flat and raised green
complexes, and of wide and tight fairways as well. Generally speaking, golfers will find plentiful landing areas
(with the exception of a few holes) on the fairways, but approaches must be accurate as trouble is often situated greenside.
State of the art facilities are available for members, including a junior Olympic pool, fitness center and tennis
courts. The clubhouse features a pro shop, casual dining area with daily cuisine plus a fabulous Sunday Brunch.
Banquet and outing facilities are upscale and can accommodate all varieties of outings and special events. A full
service practice facility is located on property, with targeted range and practice green. The tropical environment
here is teeming with native wildlife, that make their homes in the plentiful natural areas and ponds.
Five sets of tees on the course play to 6714 yards/138 slope, 6337 yards/125 slope, 5882 yards/118 slope,
5545 yards/112 slope and 5064 yards with a slope of 118 for women. The layout was designed to challenge the
skilled players from the back tees, while allowing mid handicappers and beginners an opportunity to enjoy a fun
round. Yardage markers are provided on the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, plus 250 on all par fives.
Sprinkler heads and cart paths also provide yardages measured to the center of the green, and color coded
flags indicate the days front, middle or back hole locations. Weather covers are also standard on each cart. For
