Florida Golf Course Review
Seminole Lake in Seminole Florida (in the St Petersburg area) is a 18-hole championship course designed along a relatively level terrain with abundant
water hazards and significant bunkering. Not overly long (6500 yards), Seminole lakes meanders through a residential community but features abundant
natural wildlife including a family of bald eagles that golfers may be lucky enough to see.
The property includes a practice facility with driving range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting green. The clubhouse at Seminole Lake
includes a pro shop plus restaurant/lounge and facilities for banquets, outing and weddings. These facilities and services are available to members and also outside guests as well.
In total there are 41 soft sand bunkers situated greenside and located in the landing zones off the tee, and water hazards come into play on 11 holes with
a few forced carries from the back tees. This residential course is well marked with 100/150/200 yard markers on the fairways and cart paths, sprinkler
heads measured to the center of the green, and 150 yard stakes posted on all par fours and fives. Color coded flags indicate the day's front, middle or back pin placements.
There are 5 sets of tee boxes - so golfers of all skill levels should be able to choose a set that fits their game. Distances and slope ratings range from
6501 yards/125 s lope 6221 yards/124 slope, 6008 yards/119 slope, 5437 yards/124 slope for women, and 5005 yards with a slope of 120 for ladies
hitting from the red boxes. Seminole Lake is a player friendly design that is also scenic.
This is a well maintained property and is one of the best golfing values in the Tampa/St Pete's region, and it is always open for public play. For more info
