SERENOA GOLF CLUB (941-925-2755)
Florida Golf Course Review
Serenoa Golf Club in Sarasota is a David Alden championship design that was named as one of the top three
courses in the Sarasota and one of the top 100 golf courses in the state by Florida Golf News. As the photos
below indicate, this course provides lush landscaping and conditioning as it winds through a beautiful residential
community, affording visitors and members with a wonderful golf environment and an excellent value.
The property features a full practice facility with grass range, a short game area and putting green. The Serenoa
Golf Scholl is headed by LPGA Teaching Professional Shelly Sanders, with 2 and 3 day golf schools and various
lessons available. An expansive clubhouse provides an attractive lakeside dining room that is available for
banquets, outings and special events, a full service pro shop, and a restaurant with full bar that serves continental
breakfast and lunch daily, plus dinner on Friday nights. The outing/special events facilities can accommodate up to 125 people.
Four sets of tees afford golfers with an opportunity to play from distances and slopes measuring 6340 yards/128
slope, 6040 yards/121 slope for men and 126 for women, 5225 yards/109 slope for men and 121 for women,
and 5015 yards with a slope of 115 for ladies hitting from the forward sets. 150 yard stakes and 100 & 200 yard
blocks are stationed in the fairways of all par fours and fives, cart paths are marked, and color coded flags
indicate front, middle and back pin placements. All carts come equipped with rear covers, to protect clubs during inclement weather.
Water comes into play in some shape or form on 15 of the 18 holes, and over 50 sand bunkers are situated
greenside or along the fairways, which are sometimes narrow but often generous with ample landing areas. The
terrain is gently rolling, with some raised tees and greens. The putting surfaces are medium in size and mildly
undulating. Though not a long course - some of the water carries are quite demanding from the back tees, which
present an entirely different look. Natural areas and ponds create a great environment for waterfowl and wildlife, which are abundant.
Serenoa affords the playing public with a wonderful golf experience that will not break the pocket book. It is a
great value for the Sarasota area. For more information, visit our page for the course, with a direct link to their website by clicking here.
