The Tides Golf Club has a number of things going for it - first and foremost are the incredibly reasonable rates. Secondly and just as importantly is the
location; it is the closest golf course to the gulf beaches, and is also easily accessible from Tampa, Clearwater and St Petes. Thirdly it a well conditioned
track with some of the area's best maintained greens and nice, tropical landscaping throughout.
Several holes play near tidal marshlands - and the club has received environmental permission to remove some of the mangrove thickets - which will afford
even better views of the Boca Ciega Bay. For now golfers will enjoy a fun yet challenging round on a course that features a nice variety of shot selection,
including elevated tee shots from the 1st and 10th holes
Wide, tree lined fairways lead to raised green complexes with one or more sand bunkers often protecting the sides. There are many palms on property as
well as other indigenous plants and trees, but the perimeters are not densely populated, leaving room for recovery opportunities on many holes. The
fairways are marked with yardage blocks at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and color coded stakes are also positioned next to the cart paths. Color coded flags
on the mildly sloping green complexes provide indications fo front, middle or back hole locations.
There are three sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6329 yards/123 slope, 6013 yards/121 slope and 5449 yards with a 116 slope
from the forward sets. There is no range on property but the clubhouse features a pro shop and recently renovated casual grill room with full bar. The
landscaping on the first and tenth tees near the clubhouse are a source of pride for the management team, which is known to provide quality, friendly service.
