Walkabout Golf Club in Mims (Titusville) is a Pete Dye/Jan Stephenson design and is one of the nicest courses
in the Space Coast area - featuring wonderful conditioning from tee to green along a layout that boasts a good
variety in shot values. Lush rolling fairways weave through an undulating landscape, surrounded by serene lakes,
native vegetation and abundant wildlife. The greens are designed with Tiff Dwarf, and the fairways and tees feature 419 - one of the most consistent strains of Bermuda available.
Over 60 soft sand bunkers and numerous other sandy waste areas (including a stretch of holes 11-14) are
situated along the manicured fairways or positioned greenside. Water comes into play on 14 holes, with forced
carries featured on the approaches on numbers 6 and 18. The remainder of these hazards are located mostly on
the perimeters, with ample landing areas available on opposing sides of the fairways. Marsh areas and ponds also squeeze the green complexes on several holes.
Three of the four par threes feature water hazards immediately to the left and sometimes in front, depending
upon the hole location and selection of tee area. There are 5 sets of tees that afford golfers opportunities to play
from distances and slopes measuring 7115 yards/143 slope, 6643 yards.134 slope, 6123 yards/127 slope,
5587 yards/116 slope for men and 142 for women, and 4873 yards with a slope of 127 for women playing from the forward sets.
On property is a clubhouse with small pro shop plus snack bar with hot & cold sandwiches and beverages. The
property also facilitates outings of various sizes. Practice facilities include a grass range and putting green. On
course 150 yards stakes are visible in the center of the fairways, and color coded stakes are provided on the
sides at 100 and 200. Yardage blocks are also posted at 100, 150 and 200, and sprinkler heads are measured
to the center of the green. Small markers on the flagsticks indicate front, middle and back pin placements.
Walkabout is located about 15-20 minutes east of I-95, and we recommend that you call ahead for directions. It
is an interesting and well kept design - available to the golfing public at very affordable rates. There is also a
