Winston Trails Golf Club in Lake Worth is a beautifully Joe Lee designed championship course that provides
one of the finest, upscale semi-private golf experiences in Palm Beach ounty. Playing to over 6900 yards, this
facility provides manicured fairways with generous landing zones and wonderfully conditioned, smooth rolling putting surfaces.
This property prides itself on providing private club amenities that include an 18,000 square foot clubhouse with
complete fitness center, steam room and sauna, plus Bogey's Restaurant & Grill (for lunch and dinner). There is
a pro shop, locker rooms with showers for men and women, and a complete practice facility that includes a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker and putting green.
On course yardage markers are located on the fairways of all par fours and fives at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and
there also are tropical shrubs situated on both sides of the fairways near the 150 yard area. Pin placement
sheets on the carts indicate the day's hole locations, and each cart comes equipped with a rear weather cover to help keeps clubs dry during inclement weather.
Five sets of tees are fairly evenly interspersed to provide golfers of all skill levels with an opportunity to choose a
set that fits their game. The tips measure 6838 yards and play to a 130 slope, while alternate tees measure
6443 yards/128 slope, 6142 yards/126 slope, 5531 yards/122 slope and 5323 yards with a slope of 119 from
the forward tees. There are 66 sand bunkers situated on the course, and water comes into play on 11 holes, with just a couple of forced carries.
Wide, mildly rolling fairways lined with palm trees and tropical landscaping play through an upscale residential
community, with ponds and waterways located along the perimeters. The well maintained "Champion" greens
are sloping and are large in size, and well protected by bunkers and greenside mounding. The sand traps themselves are often penal in nature, with high lips and intricate shaping.
Winston Trails is a wonderful layout with fine amenities - and we highly recommend it to golfers visiting SE
Florida. Various membership plans are available. It is also moderately priced for this area...and is open for
