Florida Golf Course Review
Note: You must be a member or resort guest to play here.
Banyan Cay Resort & Golf Club (formerly The President Country Club) features an outstanding Robert Trent Jones design featuring 6 sets of tees and Champion Bermuda green complexes which combine playability for the average golfer with a stimulating challenge from the back tees for veterans of the game. Coquina-lined fairways and pampas grass
accents and enhances the natural beauty of the West Palm Beach golf landscape.
Facilities on property include a driving range with 6 exact target greens, a large putting green and short game area, fully stocked golf and tennis shops, 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, 25
meter 5-lane Olympic swimming pool, state of the art fitness center, locker rooms with steam areas, grille room plus lounge and sports and tiki bar.
The course is well marked with each tee box and sprinkler heads throughout the layouts providing measurements to the center of the green complexes the cart paths marked at
100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives). Yardage blocks are located in the center of the fairways on all par fours and fives at 100, 150 and 200 yards. Pin placements are
recognized by color coded flags for front, middle and back hole locations. Visage GPS is also provided for accurate measurements from tee to green.
Golfers are confronted with a risk-reward par five right off the bat, as this nicely designed opening hole doglegs right with a lake aptly situated, inviting players to cut off as much as
they can manage. This hole sets the tone for a wonderful day on a beautiful course that allows ample opportunities for the grip it and rip it mentality, while also challenging players
to think their way around the course. The par threes are particularly interesting, with a mix of water, sand and pampas landscaping providing challenge and beauty. There is a nice
variety in the par four designs, with some providing plenty of room while others are tighter and demand more course management.
Six sets of tee areas on The Eagle at Banyan Cay Resort & Golf Club play to distances and slopes measuring 6887 yards/140 slope, 6586 yards/139 slope, 6374 yard/136 slope,
6009 yards/130 slope, 5500 yards with a 121 slope fro men and 128 for women, and 5063 yards with a slope of 124 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. Water comes into play
on 14 holes and meandering sandy waste areas are featured on several. 47 Soft sand bunkers of various shapes and sizes are situated greenside or positioned near the landing
zones along the finely manicured fairways. This is a beautiful course with a little bit of everything for everyone - one of the best in SE Florida and highly recommended!
