BLUE SKY GOLF CLUB (904-446-2899)
Florida Golf Course Review
Located in the heart of Jacksonville, Blue Sky Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that winds its way through natural wooded areas, lagoons and waste bunkers. The
fairways, which present a mixture of tight and wide playing surfaces along a gently rolling terrain, are often bordered by wetlands and mature trees, with no homes in close
proximity. Water comes into play in some shape or form on 13 holes and 32 sand bunkers are located near the landing zones or greenside.
Golfers will encounter quite a few forced carries over ponds and wetlands off the tee from the two back sets, but the course is very playable from the forward tees. Five sets of tee
areas are provided for on each hole, with distances and slopes measuring 6745 yards/129 slope, 6440 yards/124 slope, 6082 yards/118 slope, 5352 yards/113 slope for men and
124 for women, and 4712 yards with a slope of 109. On course 150 yard stakes are visible on all par fours and fives, and 100, 150 & 200 yards blocks are posted on the fairways.
Color coded flags indicate the pin placements on the well conditioned, mostly level Tif Dwarf putting surfaces.
On property is a lit driving range available to the public for night practice, with both mat and grass tee stations. There is a putting green plus short game area for chipping and sand
practice. The 19th hole serves standard bar items plus breakfast and lunch menus, and the facilities can accommodate up to 160 guests for outing and parties.
Blue Sky is a local favorite, due to the fine layout, wonderful maintenance and friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices also make this course a great value in the area. The
scorecards provide hole diagrams, descriptions, and tips on how to play each hole - a much appreciated feature.
The course is always open for public play, the facilities are available for tournaments & outings, and for banquets & meetings as well. For more information including map &
directions plus a direct link to their website, visit our page for the course on our web catalog of courses to play in the Jacksonville area by clicking here.
