BONAVENTURE GOLF CLUB (954-389-2100)
Florida Golf Course Review
Bonaventure Golf Club in Weston features a distinctive 18-hole golf course on manicured terrain that includes lush vegetation, mature trees and abundant native wildlife that
flourish near surrounding lakes. Worth noting - there are no residential properties lining the holes on either of this layout. Additionally, this semi-private golf facility benefited from
recent renovations that carried a 1.5 million price tag - resulting in new sand bunkers and course beautification.
Bonaventure Golf Club boasts a full service clubhouse with pro shop and locker rooms that include showers for men and women. There also is a renowned restaurant/lounge that
is open for lunch, happy hour and appetizers, plus outstanding banquet and outing facilities. Multiple TV's - including a 53" big screen are scattered throughout the lounge and
restaurant - which is known for its good food at affordable prices. An outdoor patio, gazebo and garden on the lake compliment two beautiful banquet rooms, making this a
wonderful place to host weddings and special events. A driving range and two putting greens are available for members and green fee paying guests. The property is now offering
stay, learn and play packages - with lesson and instruction of all types for individuals and groups. Call for information.
The course at Bonaventure Golf Club is a par 72 Joe Lee design that was once rated as one of Florida's top ten, and has hosted players such as Tiger Woods, Jesper Parnivik
and Sergio Garcia in the prestigious Dixie Amateur Classic. Still recognized as one of South Florida's premier layouts, Bonaventure is a classic Florida layout that winds through
strands of mature pines and hardwoods, and around numerous water hazards and sand bunkers. Rated 3 1/2 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play, the East Course is the
property's premier layout - with the number three waterfall hole considered as one of Florida's most famous. Four sets of tees on this course play to yardages and slopes
measuring 7001 yards/132 slope, 6519 yards/127 slope, 5742 yards/117 slope and 5207 yards with a 127 slope for the ladies.
There are 84 soft white sand bunkers along the course, situated greenside or in strategic locations near the landing areas of the ample but tree lined fairways. Water hazards
come into play directly or indirectly on all but four holes, and frequently compliment the tree lines in defining the hole designs. Golfers will find yardage plates on the fairways -
posted at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and red, white and blue flags indicate front, middle or back pin placements.
