Davie Golf Club (954) 797-4653
Florida Golf Course Review
Davie Golf & Country Club, located about 10 minutes east of Weston, Florida is designed along a mildly rolling terrain with significant water hazards and greenside bunkering. The
ponds and natural areas provide a great habitat for native wildlife – be sure to check out the large Iguanas that meander near the water along the 7th fairway and also along the 9th
hole. You may find them in other areas, but we encountered dozens of them along the left side on seven.
The clubhouse is a temporary one - as the pro shop and snack area (serving sandwiches, hot dog and drinks including alcohol) are situated in a trailer. There is a full service
practice facility featuring aqua range with sand bunker, plus putting and chipping greens. The pro shop attendants were super friendly on our visit.
All golf carts include a GPS which provides accurate yardages from tee to green, and to the red, yellow or blue flag placements. There are 4 sets of tees that play to distances and
slopes measuring 6347 yards/135 slope, 5917 yards/127 slope, 5504 yards/123 slope for men and 134 for women, and 4993 yards with a slope of 124 for ladies playing from the
forward tees.
Golfers will encounter water in play on every hole in some shape or form, with the exception of the par three 17th. There are 34 soft sand bunkers situated along the landing zones
or near the green complexes. The putting surfaces are medium and size and often narrow – hitting toward the flag is recommended on the approaches, to avoid 3 putts from the
tiered and sloping greens.
This is a good value golfing experience for the Southeast Florida region, and one that is highly recommended by twoguyswhogolf. For more info visit our page for the course with
