EAGLE RIDGE GOLF CLUB (239-768-1888)
Florida Golf Course Review
Eagle Ridge is one of the best golfing values in the Ft. Myers area, and is a favorite for local golfers. The 6,500-yard championship layout is framed by native pine and cypress
trees, and laced with lakes and waterways. The terrain is fairly level, making this a good experience for average players and beginners. There is enough water and sand to make
the day an interesting one from the tips for skilled players as well.
The property includes a clubhouse, 18-hole golf course, and a practice area. The clubhouse features a bar, pro shop with apparel and accessories, and a snack bar. Practice
facilities include a short game area with bunker, and a large putting green. Although there is no driving range, short game practice is the key ingredient to a low score and there is
plenty to work on at Eagle Ridge.
Four sets of tees play to yardages and slopes measuring 6538 yards/126 slope, 6020 yards/ 120 slope, 5479 yards/110 slope and 4915 yards with a slope of 114 for the ladies.
As these slopes indicate, this is a user friendly golf course, despite the fact that water comes into play in some shape or form on 17 of the 18 holes. These hazards are mostly on
the perimeter. There are also 52 sand bunkers to contend with near landing zones and greenside.
The wide fairways are surrounded by bodies of water and golfers will find an even lie when they hit the target landing zones off the tee. There are some narrow teeing areas, but
the course tends to open up passed the tee boxes. The greens are approachable with all mounding and bunkering off the side and back of the mildly sloping putting surfaces.
Markers down the middle of the fairway from 100, 150, and 200 yards help with club selection on all par fours and par fives. Color coded flags indicate front, middle, or back pin
positions on the average sized greens. Conveniently located just minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport and the surrounding beaches of Fort Myers, we recommend
this course to residents and visitors.
