GRAND PALMS GOLF CLUB at Grand Palms Hotel-Spa & Golf Resort (954-437-3334)
Florida Golf Course Review
Grand Palms Golf Club is the centerpiece of a full service resort at Grand Palms Hotel-Spa & Golf Club, which is situated on 500 acres in a mature, tropical environment. On
property are a 101-room hotel, outstanding restaurant, a brand new European Spa and an outstanding fitness facility, tennis and recreational activities, plus a lounge, meeting and
banquet facilities. A special perk for visitors - this property is just 10 minutes removed from the SAWGRASS MILLS Outlet mall - one of Florida's largest! For more information on
the resort, and for stay and play golf info plus a direct link to their website, visit our page for Grand Palms on our Florida Golf Resort listing section by clicking here.
The Grand, Royal and Sabal nines comprise 27 holes of championship golf that are symbolic of what South Florida golf has to offer - lush conditions amongst palms and tropical
foliage, with water in play on many holes. Forced carries are kept to a minimum, and generous landing areas make this a pleasant experience for all levels of golfers. Though not
overly long, this 6700 yard layout provides a wonderful selection of shot values that make for a challenging yet playable round.
The three nines pay to distances measuring up to 6684 yards with a top slope of 128. Practice facilities include an aqua driving range with grass tee stations, and two
putting/chipping greens. The clubhouse includes a 4-star dining facility, with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus offered. There is a full service bar & lounge, plus catering/banquet
facilities that can accommodate up to 400 guests. A fully stocked pro shop and nationally famous golf school with qualified PGA instructors are also on property.
The photos in this review are of the Grand and Sabal nines - the Royal nine was closed during our visit. The Grand is a par 35 that plays to 3337, 3137, 2961 and 2571 yards, and
features raised greens and some beautiful water holes. The Sabal course is more of a resort style layout, playing to 3316, 3135, 2978 and 2627 yards - and presents more
generous fairways and green complexes than does the tighter and more challenging Grand nine.
All three nines are nicely conditioned, with abundant palms and tropical plants forming the backdrop of the greens and tee boxes. Par View GPS is standard on all carts, which
also have rear mounted covers to shield clubs during inclement weather. In addition, yardage blocks are positioned on the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives)
and color coded flags indicate front, middle and back pin placements. For more info on the course, visit our page for the Grand Palms, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
