Florida Golf Course Review
Kissimmee Golf Club has long been considered a local favorite, appreciated for its quality, playability and reasonable rates. The golfer-friendly attitude extends throughout the club
staff, which invites players to enjoy the considerable facilities, including a terrific practice area with grass and mat range, short game area with sand bunker, and putting green.
Breakfast and lunch are served 7 days a week in a casual dining atmosphere, and a fully stocked pro shop is also located in the clubhouse.
The design features four sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6537 yards/126 slope, 6010 yards/120 slope, 5530 yards/116 slope and 5026 yards with a 116
slope for ladies playing from the forward tees. The Tee to Green Golf School is on property, offering comprehensive and affordable teaching packages including analysis through video.
Color coded flags indicate the day's hole locations on the small to medium sized, mildly undulating putting surfaces. Yardage blocks are posted on the fairways, color coded
markings are also visible on the cart paths at 200, 150 and 100 yards, and each tee box has measurements posted to the center of the green. As the slope ratings indicate, this is
a player friendly layout, incorporating generous fairways that are often defined by native brush and water hazards in the shape of ponds and creeks.
Sand bunkering is understated, with just over 2 dozen traps located along the fairways or greenside. The putting complexes are often open in front with mild mounding along the
sides and backs - presenting ample opportunities for recoveries from slightly offline approaches. Water comes into play on 6 holes on the front and four more on the backside,
including the par four sixth which features a creek bed crossing the fairway which warrants the attention of long hitters. The pond along the right on number eight also makes this
one of the course's toughest holes.
The water hazards and frequent doglegs make for an interesting round, providing challenge for all levels of golfers. Simple green complexes reward good shots, and make
Kissimmee Golf Club a pleasant experience for mid and high handicappers. Conveniently located in Kissimmee and with great rates, this is truly a value golf experience. For more
