LPGA INTERNATIONAL - Hills Course (386-274-5742)
Florida golf course review
Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, the LPGA International is the national headquarters for the LPGA and yearly host to an LPGA tournament (The Mercury Titleholders
Championship) and the LPGA qualifier. This semiprivate golf facility with 36-holes of championship golf provides an opportunity for amateurs to play where the pros play.
LPGA International provides guests and members with a beautiful, million-dollar "old world styled" clubhouse that features a well stocked pro shop which offers a wide selection of
golf apparel, equipment and sundries (a large selection of which, unsurprisingly, is geared toward women). It is also the location of Knickers Bar & Grill which is open daily for
lunch and offers breakfast and dinner and select weekend days. The facility features elegant locker rooms with showers for members and a nicely appointed locker, private
commode/change area/washroom for nonmembers.
The International Room and the LPGA International is a state-of-the-art meeting/event facility that can host parties, weddings and meetings for groups of 20 to 200. The property is
an ideal location for a combination event such as a company conference/golf outing.
The LPGA Golf Academy at the LPGA International offers personalized attention with a three to one Student to Teacher ratio. One or two day Golf Golf Schools are reasonably
priced and clinics and group instructions are available on a daily basis.
Golf carts are equipped with weather protectors and ball & club washers, as well as a ProLink GPS system. Both 18-hole championship courses on property provide immaculately
maintained Bermuda tees, greens and fairways with yardage blocks at 100, 150 and 200 (250 on par 5's). Sprinkler heads are also marked with yardage to the center of the green.
THE HILLS COURSE
Florida Golf Course Review
To commemorate the legendary women of golf, Arthur Hills designed The Hills (formerly the Legends) Course to recognize the skill and dedication that players such as Nancy
Lopez, Pat Bradley, and Betsy King bought to the game, and their hard work in paving the way for today's LPGA stars.
The Hills is a true shotmaker's course. Strategically placed hazards, tight fairways and rolling greens combine provide an interesting, aesthetically pleasing and challenging
layout. The par 5's on the Hills are extremely challenging with long carries off the tee, fairway bunkers beaconing and well-guarded greens. The course plays through Florida
wetlands and forests with beautiful mossy trails between many of the holes. It is a nature lover's paradise.
Five sets of tees provide challenge and playability for any level of golfer. The back tees are 6984 yards with a slope of 142, the middle tees play 5494, 6339, and 5827 with slope
ratings between 136 and 123 depending on gender, and the forward tees are 5155 yards with a slope of 123.
Located near Daytona Beach, LPGA International Legends Course is available for play by the public. Its close proximity to the beaches, the Daytona 500, and other attractions, as
well as the quality and service this course provide, make it a must play for visitors to the Daytona Beach area. For more information on this course, membership, special pricing,
