Florida Golf Course Review
The Majors in Palm Bay on the east coast of Florida, south of Melbourne, is a par 72 championship Arnold Palmer Signature design that meanders through a residential
community with beautiful natural areas and abundant native wildlife. The houses are situated a good distance from the playing areas.
The clubhouse includes a pro shop plus restaurant/lounge with outdoor patio, plus banquet/outing facilities. There is a full service practice facility with targeted range plus short
game area with sand bunker and putting/chipping green. Locker rooms with showers are also on property. Of special note, kids play for free when accompanied by a paying adult
anytime Monday through Friday and after 11 on weekends!
Golfers will find the course well marked with 100, 150 and 200 yard markers on the fairways of all par fours and fives, and pin placement locations are reflected through small flag
markers on each flagstick. There is usually room for error off the tee and greenside, but with 44 sand bunkers and water hazards in play on 14 holes, players can expect to be
challenged.
There is a mix of tree-lined holes and those with wide open landing zones, that play along a gently rolling terrain with canals crossing the fairways or in front of the mildly sloping
green complexes on several holes. The sand traps are often sprawling, creating the impression that there are more than reality dictates. From the back tees golfers will encounter
some hefty carries – from the front tees the carries are much more reasonable.
There are five sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6918 yards/138 slope, 6474 yards/135 slope, 6016 yards/126 slope, 5438 yards/119 slope and 4820 yards
with a slope of 125 for ladies playing from the red tees. For more info visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
