Misty Creek Country Club (941) 922-2188
Florida Golf Course Review
Misty Creek Country Club is a beautiful championship design built in 1985, and is the only course in Florida to be entirely set in a natural wildlife preserve. Golfers will encounter
manicured fairways (some open and some tree-lined) bordered by dense vegetation and moss draped oaks. An gators are plentiful - If you look closely you might be able to find
them in any of the ponds, but next to the tee area on number 5, alligators are usually in abundance - I spotted 6 during my review and there are also plentiful deer roaming the
property. Only a few residences dot the course.
The course was well conditioned from tee to green on my mid- winter visit. Six holes have water hazards in play in some shape or form, and there are 36 soft sand bunkers
situated near the landing zones off the tee or greenside. The course is well marked with 100/150/200 yard markers on the fairways and cart paths, and sprinkler heads art
measured to the center of the greens. Pin placement charts are on the scorecards and the tee boxes are marked, but all this may be un-necessary as the GPS on all carts
provides accurate info from tee to green.
There are 5 sets of tee boxes - so golfers of all skill levels should be able to choose a set that fits their game. The tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6895
yards/134 slope, 6384 yards/127 slope, 6007 yards/123 slope, 5357 yards/110 slope, and 5208 yards with a slope of 123 for women hitting from the red boxes. Skilled players will
find challenges from the tips, and as the slopes and yardages indicate, this is a player friendly experience from the alternate sets. Once on the gently raised greens, golfers will
find the mildly sloped putting surfaces true rolling and score-able.
On property is a full service clubhouse with restaurant and lounge. pro shop and banquet facilities. There is a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker plus
putting green on property. For more info on the course, visit our informational page with map and directions plus direct link to the courses website by clicking here.
