Northdale Golf & Tennis Club in Tampa is a Ron Garl 18-hole championship design that incorporates water in play on 11 holes, strategic bunkering (50+ situated along fairways
or geeenside), rolling terrain and contoured greens that create a challenging yet fun golf experience. Rated 3 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play, Northdale underwent renovations
in 2002 that included a complete rebuilding of the greens to USGA specifications, reshaping of every bunker and resurfacing of more than 4 miles of cart paths.
Four sets of tees play to yardages and distances measuring 6824 yards/129 slope, 6271 yards/120 slope, 5836 yards/118 slope and 5320 yards with a slope of 121 from the
forward (ladies) tees. Four par threes and four par fives combine with a group of mid-length four pars (ranging from 421 to 360 yards from the tips), that play along well groomed
fairways with plentiful landing areas. The on-course marking system includes yardage blocks are posted in the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and pin placement information
is provided for on the score cards. Sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green, and cart paths are also marked.
The clubhouse facilities include a pro shop, restaurant/lounge that serves breakfast on Friday-Sunday, lunch daily and dinners on special occasions. Catering is available and
banquet/outing facilities can accommodate up to 150 people. Also on property are a putting and chipping green, but no driving range.
As evidenced by these photos, the conditioning of the playing surfaces at Northdale afford a high quality golfing experience. Aesthetically the course is beautiful, and, as the slope
ratings indicate - a round here can be enjoyed by all levels of players. Northdale is conveniently located just minutes from Tampa's airport and some of the best beaches in Florida.
