RED TAIL GOLF CLUB Review (352-383-2700)
Florida Golf Course Review
Red Tail in Sorrento - northwest of Orlando, is a beautiful 18-hole championship design that features a wonderful mix of open and tree lined fairways along a surprisingly rolling
terrain. Red Tail is a part of CELEBRATION GOLF MANAGEMENT - to visit their website click here.
This David Harman designed golf course winds through a residential community that encourages membership and provides nicely for members and guests, with fitness and
tennis facilities also featured within this gated community. The gorgeous clubhouse includes a restaurant/lounge serving lunch and dinner - with outdoor veranda, plus full locker
rooms with showers for men and women. The golf shop is situated in an adjacent building.
5 sets of tees play from distances and slopes measuring 7152 yards/141 slope, 6768 yards/ 132 slope, 6503 yards/129 slope, 6225 yards/125 slope and 5499 yards with a slope
of 114 for men and 130 for ladies hitting from the forward sets. This is a course where golfers will be afforded the opportunity to use every club in their bag, with distance off the tee
playing a vital role from the back tees.
The yardage marking system consists of 100, 150 and 200 yard markers on the fairways of all par fours and fives, with color coded flags indicating the day's front, middle or back
hole locations. The 150 yard poles also serve as directional markers on par fours and fives. Golfers will generally find ample room off the tee, but moguls and mounds can alter
the lies. The gently raised green complexes reward good shots - with mildly sloping tiff eagle putting surfaces that roll fast and true.
The course features over 40 soft white sand bunkers, and also includes plentiful sandy waste and natural areas, that add both aesthetic beauty and challenge. Water hazards are
in play on 8 holes - highlighted by holes 14-17 that wrap around a beautiful lake. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
