RIVER HALL COUNTRY CLUB (239)313-4653
Florida Golf Course Review
River Hall Country Club, located in the historic river country of Fort Myers, opened in the fall of 2007. This private golf course was built within the gates of a masterfully planned
LandMar community and stretches over 7,000 yards from the tips. This is the first Davis Love III Signature design in Florida and it adheres to Love's design philosophy that
"modern courses should be designed in a traditional manner, with emphasis on strategy and playability, and where creativity is reflected in the subtleties of design detail.
The course layout is wide open and spread out amongst a beautiful residential community. Small trees are scattered about the layout and long natural grasses are in play off the
sides of the wide fairways causing somewhat of a links feel. The fairway landing areas are fairly flat with mounding near bunkers and off the sides causing uneven lies only after
inaccurate tee shots. The medium-large putting surfaces are open to the bump and run approach from in front and are well guarded by bunkers and mounding to the sides.
The 8,011 square foot clubhouse features a well stocked pro shop with a professional golf staff available for lessons, the Caloosa Grille with a full service bar and restaurant, and
men's and women's locker rooms with showers. The 15-acre practice facilities include a double ended driving range, two chipping areas, a large putting green, and a practice
bunker. There is also a 3-hole short course which will be expanded to 9-holes in the near future.
There are five sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 7211 yards/136 slope, 6689 yards/129 slope, 6183 yards/125 slope, 5671 yards/ 112 slope, and
5075 yards with a slope of 117 for women playing the forward tees. As the score card indicates, this course was built for golfers of all skill levels. Scratch golfers and beginners
will be challenged, yet have a fair chance with a variety of tee boxes to choose from.
All carts include Pro Link GPS which indicates yardage info from the cart to the pin and all hazards in-between on every hole. There are a total of 72 sand bunkers strategically
situated near landing zones throughout the layout. 11 of the 18 holes feature water hazards in play mostly near the teeing areas, however, that number is reduced to about 6 for
those who play from the front tees.
The pleasant staff and an outstanding facility at River Hall Country Club make for a wonderful golf experience. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their
