ROLLING GREEN GOLF CLUB ( 941-355-7621)
Florida Golf Course Review
Conveniently located to downtown Sarasota as well as to the nearby beaches, Rolling Green Golf Club provides an affordable and playable golf experience. The par 72 6460 yard
Andy Anderson design features a top slope of just 119, making this one of the most
player friendly experiences in the Sarasota region. Generous fairways and large well conditioned greens create ample scoring opportunities for all levels of golfers.
On property is a well stocked pro shop plus snack area with beverages plus hot and cold sandwiches. Practice facilities include a putting green, short game are with sand bunker,
and grass driving range. On course the yardage marking system includes 100, 150 and 200 yard markers on cart path and fairways, plus 150 yard stakes on all par fours and fives
. Pin placement sheets on all carts provide info on the days' hole locations.
There are a total of 40 sand bunkers situated greenside or near the landing zones of the mostly level fairways, which usually have trees on both sides, but with ample room in
between. Water comes into play on 4 holes of the front side, and on just the par three 8th on the back. The green complexes are slightly raised, but are very accessible.
Four sets of tee boxes play to distances and slope that measure 6440 yards/119 slope, 6005 yards/116 slope, 5680 yards/114 slope and 5081 yards with a slope of 110 from the
forward tees. As these ratings indicate, Rolling Green is a great avenue for beginners, high handicappers, families and for those out to hone their games and develop some
confidence in their swing.
A portion of the course meanders through a residential community, while the rest is situated amongst natural areas and open spaces. The conditioning from tee to green was quirt
good on our mid-November visit - and the green fees are quite reasonable all year long. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
