STONEYBROOK GOLF CLUB Estero (239-948-3933)
Florida Golf Course Review
Stoneybrook in Estero (no relationship to the Stoneybrook courses in other regions of Florida) is a public daily fee golf facility and one of the top layouts in the Fort Myers region
with a reputation for excellent greens and top notch conditioning. Designed by Gordon Lewis and Jed Azinger, this championship layout is one of just 200 courses nationwide that
has been certified as "beginner friendly" by the National Golf Course Owners Association.

From the Champion tees, this is one of the longest courses in Florida at 7314 yards/143 slope. Basically one can make their golf experience as challenging as they desire
however, as this course provides 7 sets of tees to choose from. The remaining tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6652 yards/137 slope, 6085 yards/130 slope,
5515 yards/116 slope for men and 125 for women, 4928 yards/111 slope for men and 114 for women, 4555 yards/107 slope for women and 3438 yards from the future tees with a slope of 93.
On property is a clubhouse with pro shop plus restaurant and lounge, plus a full service practice facility with aqua range, short game area with sand bunker plus putting green.
There is a GPS program on all carts, and just in case sprinkler heads and 150 yard stakes on all par fours and fives are measured to the center of the green.
The course features water in play on all holes with the exception of the par four 11th. Sand plays an important role in the design as including the waste areas, there are a total of
105 sand bunkers situated near the landing zones or greenside .The green complexes are large and mildly sloping, with significant room fro recovery from slightly offline
approaches. Golfers will encounter several wooden bridges and numerous rock retaining walls – which add to the aesthetic beauty of this property.
The tips are tough - make no mistake, but this course can be enjoyed by all levels of players by choosing the correct tees. There is plenty of room off the tees, as long as you avoid
the many fairway bunkers. We highly recommend a round here.
