SWEETWATER GOLF& COUNTRY CLUB (407-889-4666)
Florida Golf Course Review
Sweetwater Golf Club in Apopka is a traditional course that meanders through a residential community. Partial cart paths lead to tree lined fairways with several doglegs along a
gently rolling terrain. Tee times are now open to the public at all times.
The Clubhouse features a café and restaurant, locker rooms with showers, plus a pro shop. There is a swimming pool and tennis courts that are available to members and
guests. Practice facilities include a grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting green.
There are 5 sets of tees designed to provide opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a round here. The tips measure 6771 yards and play to a slope of 132 Alternate sets
measure 6375 yards/130 slope, 5986 yards/124 slope, 5501 yards/120 slope, and 5302 yards with a slope of 122 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. !50 yard stakes can be
found on all par fours and fives, and 100 and 200 yard blocks are also situated in the middle of the fairways. Color coded flags indicate front, middle or back hole locations.
There are 62 sand bunkers situated along the landing zones on the gently rolling fairways or greenside, and water comes into play in some shape or form on 5 holes. There are
some forced carries but most of the water is located on the perimeters. The fairways are usually bound by woodlands, water and or sand bunkers.
The front nine plays along a generally level terrain, but the back side is much more undulating. Number 11 plays downhill with a pond to the left of the 150 stake, and the 12th and
13th play very much uphill. The mildly sloped Tif Eagle greens were very consistent and in fantastic shape on our spring visit.
With the 5 tee areas, plentiful room near the greens and generally wide fairways, this is a course that can be fun for all levels of golfers. This is a good value for the area! For more
