Turnberry Isle Miami Soffer Course Review (305)932-6200
Florida Golf Course Review
IMPRESSIONS from our foursome round in January 2022
Simply put - Turnberry presents the 2 best golf courses in SE Florida! Both are interestingly designed with a great variety of shot options and selections, with excellent
conditioning and beautiful landscaping from tee to green. The practice facilities are amazing, and their beautiful clubhouse restaurant affords enticing views of the course
and property. The service is top notch, with excellent cart food and beverage service from tee one to 18! This is an experience worthy of planning your vacation around.

Turnberry Isle Miami, situated on 300 lush acres between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, is a Mediterranean-style retreat featuring upscale accommodations and amenities, with golf
facilities worthy of an exclusive private club. Play on the two courses is open for members and guests, plus those fortunate enough to be staying at the resort. The property offers
a variety of rooms and suites, a full spa and fitness area, outstanding tennis center, swimming pools with water slides and lazy river, expansive conference and meeting/event
facilities, plus fine and casual dining. For info on the resort and stay and play packages, click here.
The golf facilities include two beautiful 18-hole championship courses, complete practice area (with driving range, short game areas and putting greens) golf academy, and pro
shop. Locker rooms with showers are available, and a dining area and lounge are conveniently nearby. Lush tropical landscaping adorns both layouts, with features that include
an abundance of palm trees, man-made waterfalls, plentiful soft sand bunkers and water hazards.
GPS is standard on all golf carts, with hole diagrams and accurate measurements from tee to pin. The flag sticks are also color coded to indicate front, middle or back pin
placements. Coolers with bottles of water are also mounted on all golf carts. The conditioning of the playing surfaces is exquisite, with seaside paspalum featured on the tees,
fairways and greens. The rough turf is superior paspalum.
SOFFER COURSE
The images in this review are of the Soffer Course, which is the longest (by far) of the 2 designs, with slope ratings that are also considerably higher. Like the Miller, this is an
original Robert Trent Jones Sr design that was transformed by Raymond Floyd. The fairways are contoured and shaped by water hazards and natural areas, with a significant
amount of water along the way. Again - play from the tips or Blue or white tees and your challenge is cut out for you. Resort golfers can enjoy a comfortable round from the 2
forward sets.
The Soffer course offers 5 sets of tee boxes with yardages and slopes that measure 7049/19 slope, 6537/139 slope, 6013/130 slope for men and 145 for women, 5567/129
slope for men and 136 for women, and 4971 with a slope of 123 from the front sets. Including the sandy waste areas (which also double as cart paths on many holes) there are
approximately 70 sand bunkers situated near the landing zones or greenside, and water comes into play in some shape or form on 16 holes. Check out the areas surrounding
the tee boxes ( especially around the tips of the 11th tee) and you may see some rather large iguanas!
This is a spectacular golf course. with an incredible finishing hole. It is recommended that you hit your 2nd shot to the very far end of the fairway, leaving an approach with a wedge
over water to a narrow island green. Good luck! The view of 18th green with the waterfall in the background (9th photo) was taken from the veranda of my room on the 6th floor...
quite memorable! For more information, visit our detailed information page for this course by clicking here.
